As a cat sanctuary, we are currently home to 22 resident cats and aiming to have 33 permanent cats who are happy to meet our visitors every day and show them how to relax! We have been recruiting the coolest cats in town since August 2017. Most of them moved in about 3 months before we opened to the public. This gave us some time to observe them and decide who would be a good fit to stay as resident cat. As long as they were little, we barely had any issues or problems, but once everyone grew up, we noticed some changes and territorial behaviors in most male cats. To become a OCC resident cat, you must have a friendly personality, you don't mind constantly changing people and you need to get along with all the other cats to ensure the best cat experience for our visitors and all other resident cats. We had to find homes for more than 10 of our originally chosen resident cats as they were not happy here at OCC with so many other cats and/or constantly changing people.
